Till end of 2005,qualified first grade schools increased from 4 to 8,and there were10 schools reached the second and third grade; Those 4 qualified first grad schools started to perfect its enrollment expansion. The first phase of Xiamen Science College was completed and there were 2100 new students studied in this college this year; Educational Institutions, College for Staff and Workers and Television College merged into one college named Xiamen City Professional College. Till the end of 2005, there were totally 1108 different grade of schools(including adult school) in Xiamen, enrolled 137,100 new students. Till end of year, there were total 505,900 students in these schools. Including: 12 common colleges enrolled 23400 new students this year and with total 64600 students studying in; 84 common high schools, with 42,200 enrolled students and total of 125,700 students in school; 348 primary schools with total of154,600 students; 466 kindergartens with total of 51,000 students;33 secondary vocational schools with total of 34,100 students;3 technical schools with total of 4100 students;158 adult schools with 6300 enrolled new students and total of 62,200 students in school; Four different grade of special educational schools with 412 students. 27000 junior middle school students entered senior high school with100% entering rate. Among them, 40% students studed in first grade senior high schools; College entrance matriculate rate was 85.45%, and Xiamen kept getting the highest college entrance marks of Fujian province in the past 7 years. Compulsory education in rural places implemented smoothly. Xiamen cancelled cross area study fee for children from rural areas and they enjoyed the equal treatment with children in the urban. |
