Electricity is mainly supplied by the power grid of Fujian Province and supplemented by three reserve power stations of Xiamen's own. Two generators of 300,000 KW each at Songyu Power Plant are two generators of 25000kw each at Xinglin power plant, and four generators of 11520 KW each at yongchang power plant in operation, satisfying the demands of both civic and industrial consumers.

The electric network is safe and reliable. The reliability of power supply has reached 99.98%. It is entirely possible to satisfy the demands of both domestic and industrial consumers. With the completion of electric work, eligible applicants will get kilowatt-hour meter installed and electricity supplied within ten working days.
