On the afternoon of September 8, the 15th Joint Meeting between China-Japan Investment Promotion Organizations was convened in the Xinyue Building of Xiamen Mandarin Hotel. Chen Deming, Minister of Commerce, addressed the meeting.
Mr. Chen stated that Chinese President Hu Jintao visit to Japan in May ushered in a new phase of China-Japan strategic cooperation, and that, China and Japan will take advantage of this opportunity to continue the expansion of two-way investment and deepen bilateral economic and trade cooperation. He offered a six-point suggestion on the further development of investment cooperation between China-Japan.
Shoichiro Toyoda, Chairman of the Japan-China Investment Promotion Agencies first paid tribute to victims who died in the Sichuan earthquake and expressed his wishes for the reconstruction of earthquake-hit areas. In his speech, he indicated four key points in further investment in China - energy conservation and environmental protection technology, small and medium-sized enterprises(SMEs), the rejuvenation of Midwest and Northeast China, and favorable policy. In the end, he hoped that China and Japan would cooperate ever closely and carry on new activities. |
