Poland economic trade cooperation seminar opens

  On the afternoon of September 8, the Sino-Poland Economic and Trade Cooperation Seminar opened, Vice Minister of Commerce, Jiang Zengwei; Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy of Poland, Waldemar Pawlak; the Polish Ambassador to China, Krzysztof Szumski; and officials from Chinese and Polish ministries of commerce, representatives of companies, and other dignitaries, attended the seminar.

  Mr. Jiang stated in his address that Chinese and Polish economies are highly mutually complementary, and that to to advance bilaterial trade cooperation, enterprises from the two countries must proactively tap into each other’s markets and embark on cooperation in all feasible forms. He also pointed out that at this stage, the scale of investment cooperation between China and Poland is limited and out of line with the two countries’ economic strength. He added that while encouraging Polish investment in the country, China also welcomes other forms of cooperation.

  Polish Deputy Prime Minister Pawlak also addressed the seminar. He said that the trade between China and Poland is delivering win-win results. At present, Poland has a huge trade gap with China. He believe that one of the most effective way to expand bilateral trade is to increase direct Polish investment in China.

  Polish Ambassador to China, Krzysztof Szumski, addressed the seminar as well.
