Economy Value  
In 2019, the preliminary estimation indicated that the gross regional product (GDP) in Xiamen had amounted to 599.504 billion yuan, a year-on-year rise of 7.9% at comparable prices. Specifically, the added value of the primary industry was 2.649 billion yuan, increasing by 0.7%; that of the secondary industry was 249.399 billion yuan, an increase of 9.7%; and that of the tertiary industry was 347.456 billion yuan, up 6.6%. The proportion of three industries was 0.4:41.6:58.0. The per capita GDP calculated at permanent residence was 142,739 yuan or US$ 20,691. 472.02 kWh of electricity and 7.30 tons of water were consumed per 10 thousand yuan worth of GDP, 90.63 kWh and 1.52 tons fewer than that of last year respectively.
Fiscal Revenue & Expenditure
The year 2019 saw Xiamen’s public budgetary revenue reached RMB 132.582 billion with a year-on-year increase of 1.7%, among which the local fiscal revenue had increased 1.8% to 76.837 billion yuan. The tax collected in the local fiscal revenue declined 0.6% to 59.953 billion yuan, of which the VAT was 18.564 billion yuan, down by 7.3%; the corporate income tax was 10.615 billion yuan, down by 4.7%; the personal income tax was 8.414 billion yuan, up by 15.9%; and the land appreciation tax was 9.659billion yuan, rose by 8.0%.
The fiscal expenditure for the year 2019 was 91.472 billion yuan, up by 2.5% over the previous year. Of this total, expenditure on education was RMB 14.767 billion, increasing by 8.3 %; that on science and technology was RMB 3,843 million, up by 34.6%; that on urban and rural community affairs service was RMB 15.945 billion, down by 24.2%; that on social security and employment was RMB 6,255 million, down by 1.7%; and that on health care and family planning was RMB 6,949 million, up by 9.0 %.
In 2019, the consumer goods price for all residents grew by 3.0 %(see Table 1), among which the price went up by 0.4% in service projects and up by 4.7 % in consumer goods.

Districts Economy
An analysis by regions showed that the gross domestic product (GDP) of Siming district reached 189.646 billion yuan, up by 7.2 % over the previous year; that of Huli district rose to 129.729 billion yuan, up by 8.3%; that of Haicang district reached 79.687 billion yuan, up by 7.8%; that of Jimei district increased to 78.937 billion yuan, up by 7.7% ; that of Tong’an district went up to 55.123 billion yuan, a growth of 8.3%; and that of Xiang’an district arrived at 66.383 billion yuan, up by 9.3% year on year.
The total added value of the above-scale industrial enterprises in Siming district rose by 5.1% year on year, and that in Huli, Haicang, Jimei, Tong’an and Xiang’an achieved a respective increase of 10.5%, 8.5%, 6.8%, 6.0% and 10.4%.
For the whole year, the total retail sales of consumer goods from Siming district was 64.851billion yuan, that from Huli district was 37.772 billion yuan, that from Haicang district was 17.048 billion yuan, that from Jimei district was 17.932 billion yuan, that from Tong’an district was 26.493 billion yuan, and that from Xiang’an district was 9.09 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 13.4%, 13.9%, 10.0%, 12.0% and 8.6% and 12.4% respectively.  
In terms of the investment in fixed assets (excluding the rural households), Siming, Huli, Haicang ,Tong’an and Xiang’an had an increase of 11.7%, 9.5%, 10.6% and 17.3% and 9.5% respectively, while that in Jimei was down by 3.7%.
Meanwhile, the city’s district-level public budgetary revenue expanded by 5.8% compared with last year, amounting to 23.251 billion yuan. Of this total, the public budgetary revenue in Siming district was 5,862 million yuan, up by 5.2%; that in Huli district arrived at 4,960 million yuan, up by 4.5%; that in Haicang district was 3,984 million yuan, up by 1.9%; that in Jimei district reached 3,789 million yuan, up by 9.6%; that in Tong’an district was 2,567 million yuan, up by 11.6%; and that in Xiang’an district rose to 2,090 million yuan, up by 5.6%.
