According to the preliminary estimation, the gross domestic product (GDP) of Xiamen was arrived at 346.601 billion yuan in 2015, a year-on-year increase of 7.2 % at comparable prices. Specifically, the value added of the primary industry was 2,394 million yuan, declined by 0.5 %; that of the secondary industry was 150.899 billion yuan, increasing by 7.9 %; and that of the tertiary industry was 193.308 billion yuan, up by 6.5 %.The ratio of these three industries was 0.743.555.8. The per capita GDP calculated at permanent residence was 90,378 RMB (US$14,514) with a rise of 5.3 % over the previous year. Consumption of energy for producing 10 thousand yuan worth of GDP is 609.62 kWh, 29.81 kWh less than last year; and that of water was 10.48 tons, down 0.41 tons from last year.

 

Fiscal Revenue &Expenditure

Xiamen’s budgetary public revenue amounted to RMB 100.171 billion, representing a rise of 10.2% year on year, among which the local fiscal revenue had increased 11.5 % to 60.606 billion yuan by the end of 2015. The tax collected amounted to 49.532 billion yuan with an increase of 5.6%, propelled by VAT of 7,940 million yuan, business tax of 13.169 billion yuan, corporate income tax of 8,912 million yuan and personal income tax of 2,793 million yuan, posting a year-on-year growth rate of 5.6%, 8.6%, 4.4%, 12.9%, 19.5% respectively.

The fiscal expenditure for the year was 65.205 billion yuan, up by 18.9% over the previous year. Of this total, expenditure on education was RMB 9,924 million, increasing by 11.2 %; that on transportation was RMB 8,889 million, up by 0.9%; that on urban and rural community services was RMB 8354 million, up by 27.3 %; that on social security and employment was RMB 4,708 million, up by 22.9 %; that on health care and family planning was RMB 4,165 million, up by 20.3 %.

 

Price

In 2015, the consumer price for all residents grew by 1.7 % (see Table 1), among which the price went up by 2.7 % in service areas and up by 1.3 % in consumer goods.

The ex-factory price index for industry producer was 95.4. Specifically, the ex-factory price for light industrial products declined by 1.6 % while that for heavy industrial ones was down by 6.1 %. Grouped by two typical categories, the ex-factory price for manufactured goods shrank 6.2 % due to 17.5 % decrease in raw materials as well as 4.7 % down in the processing goods, though the ex-factory price for mining products was stable compared with last year; and the ex-factory price for living products declined by 0.8 %, among which the ex-factory price for clothing was up by 3 %, that for food increased by 0.6 % , while that for the general commodities and the durable consumer goods went down by 0.5 % and 4.6 % respectively.

District Economy

For the year, the gross domestic product (GDP) of Siming district amounted to 105.608 billion yuan, up by 7.0 % year-on-year; that of Huli district rose to 77.814 billion yuan, up by 7.7 %; that of Haicang district reached 51,170 million yuan, up by 7.5 % ; that of Jimei district increased to 49.415 billion yuan, up 8.1 % ; that of Tong’an district went up to 24.532 billion yuan, up by 5.0 %; and that of Xiang’an district arrived at 38.062 billion yuan, up by 7.1 % year on year.

The profits made by industrial enterprises above designated size in different districts were as follows: Siming district rose by 3.2% year-on-year to 27.759 billion yuan; Huli district increased 10.6% to 145.415 billion yuan; Haicang district dropped by 0.9% to 96.880 billion; Jimei district increased by 3.7% to 79.185 billion yuan; Tong’an district rose by 9.0% to reach 47.925 billion yuan; and Xiang’an district expanded by 11.4% to 105.917 billion yuan.

For that year, the retail sales of consumer goods from Siming district was 44.394 billion yuan, that from Huli district was 35.054 billion yuan, that from Haicang district was 14.156 billion yuan, that from Jimei district is 11.532 billion yuan, that from Tong’an district was 7,701 million yuan and that from Xiang’an district was 4,006 million yuan, contributing to an year-on-year increase of 6.2%, 5.2%, 15.8%, 17.5%, 20.3%, 6.5% respectively. 

In terms of the investment in fixed assets (excluding the rural households), Siming district invested an amount of 23.624 billion yuan with an annual growth of 2.0 %; Huli district invested 31.535 billion yuan with decrease of 2.0 %; Haicang district invested 36.950 billion yuan with increase of 25.8 %; Jimei district invested 38.325 billion yuan with 28.0% of growth; Tong’an district invested 22.692 billion yuan with a big growth of 40.3 %; and Xiang’an district invested 35.639 billion yuan with the same growth rate as that of Tong’an.

Meanwhile, the city’s district-level public budgetary revenue expanded a year-on-year 10.6 %, amounting to 17.963 billion yuan. Of this all, Siming district was 5,150 million yuan, up by 8.8 % year-on-year; Huli district arrived at 4,233 million yuan, up by 0.7 %; Haicang district was 2890 million yuan, up by 15.2 %; Jimei district reached 2,843 million yuan, up by 23.5%; Tong’an district rose to 1,405 million yuan, up by 10.6% and Xiang’an district was 1,441 million yuan, up by 17.8%.
