The 2017 Xiamen Industry Exposition wrapped up on Saturday at the Xiamen International Conference and Exhibition Center. Covering an exhibition area of 85,000 square meters and 4,000 standard booths, the expo attracted 40,000 domestic and international guests and enterprises.
The exposition included exhibition areas for machine tools and equipment, the rubber industry, industrial molding, Taiwan-based enterprises and laser equipment. Ancillary events held in conjunction with the exposition included the Xiamen Advertising and Printing Exhibit, the Xiamen International Intelligent Manufacturing Exhibit and the Xiamen International Construction Machinery Exhibit.
A number of colleges and universities from both sides of the Taiwan Strait displayed a range of scientific advances and technologies at an event designed to showcase university and industry collaborations and partnerships.
Fuxiong Zheng, vice chairman of the Taiwan Electrical and Electronic Manufacturers Association said during the event that robot industry output value in the Chinese mainland will reach an estimated 100 billion yuan in the next few years. He added that the robotics industry is of intense interest to Taiwan-based enterprises.
Mr. Zheng also noted the importance of Xiamen and its exposition for Taiwan businesses looking to leverage the city's participation in China's One Belt and Road initiative.
