The 2017 China International Fair for Investment and Trade (CIFIT) kicked off Monday at the Xiamen International Conference and Exhibition Center. Building off the recent BRICS Summit, the four-day fair includes an exhibition area devoted to investment and cooperation between BRICS countries. Various national promotion agencies are on hand to discuss investment projects and facilitate business conversations.

In addition to Brazil, Russia, India and South Africa, representatives from countries including Mexico and Thailand are participating in the fair to present and market products and technologies from their countries.

This year's CIFIT also includes a number of formal meeting venues, including a forum dedicated to e-business. Jointly organized by the United Nations Industrial Development Organization and the China E-Commerce Association, the forum will cover private and public partnerships in e-business with an emphasis on BRICS countries. The forum and related events are intended to promote cooperation and growth amongst small- and medium-sized enterprises.
