The Second Strait Silver Industry Exhibition has drawn to a successful conclusion at the Xiamen International Conference and Exhibition Center. More than 180 enterprises, including over 40 Taiwanese exhibitors, gathered to showcase various products and services for the elderly, including traditional Chinese medicine, smart elderly care services, and supplies for the elderly.
The three-day exhibition ran between October 27-29 and aimed to carry forward the Chinese virtues of respecting and loving the aged, improving the quality of service for the aged, and setting up a platform for cross-Strait silver industries to exchange the latest fruits of their labors.
Zhao Rongsheng, deputy director-general of Fujian Provincial Department of Civil Affairs, said at the opening ceremony, that the silvery industry on the Chinese mainland had a vast internal market with great potential due to the rapidly aging Chinese society.
He added that In Fujian province, the demand for elderly care services is estimated to reach as much as 50-64.5 billion yuan. He also stressed that Fujian should strengthen people-to-people exchanges in elder affairs with Taiwan.
During the event, a major forum and various sub-forums, industrial meetings, product promotions, as well as other supporting activities were held.
