  Two joint research projects that XMUT joint research teams has developed respectively with Newcastle University in the UK and Nagoya University in Japan have recently been selected by the State Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs (SAFEA) and included in 2015 SAFEA Recruitment Program of High-end Foreign Experts, eligible for special national and municipal grants for research projects.
  One of the projects entitled “Theoretical and Applied Research on Emergency Evacuation of Public Transport in Fire Accidents” is led by Prof. Mark Robinson Director of the XMUT-NU NewRail Research Centre representing Newcastle University. The Center was established in 2014 by the School of Mechanical and Automotive Engineering of XMUT and NewRail Rail Research Centre of Newcastle University and the project is the effort of the joint research team of the center.
  Another project by XMUT research team entitled “Key technologies in Child Passenger Injury Mechanisms and Restraint System Integration” is led by Prof. Koji Mizuno of Nagoya University. It is the second consecutive year that his project with XMUT has received funding from SAFEA.
